hi. today i am on my way to vienna, austria toexplore some modern coffeehouses. vienna is known for its rich coffee cultureand history. and today, i am going to show you some greatcoffeehouses - not the traditional ones, but the modern ones. so come and explore them with me. the first caf㩠is called jonas reindl, rightnext to "schottentor" on the famous vienna ringstrasse. you will notice the chic interior of thiscoffeeshop right away, but don’t go looking


for the owner by name of jonas. this cafã© took its name from the historicalcolloquial name of the "schottentor" tram stop, "jonas reindl," as it was builtby mayor franz jonas in 1961 and the word "reindl" is a viennese expression foran oval cooking pan. everyday, the cafã© offers new and alwaysdelicious cakes and pastry to go along with a cup of your favorite coffee. you can then enjoy the espresso or cappuccinowhile reading a book, working, meeting with your friends or simply watching the worldgo by. for a moment, the time will stay still atjonas reindl coffee.


the cozy balthasar coffee bar is located near the popular prater. it’s a small place with friendly staff whowill prepare you great-quality coffee or tea. balthasar might seem busy at first, with peoplecoming and going, but every now and then it will slow down, so you can appreciate themodern, yet welcoming interior and fantastic food. if you are looking for something super modern,why not head to vienna’s university of economics and business campus, also near prater? the entire complex was designed by the renownedzaha hadid and is in a sharp contrast to the city’s historical buildings.
