hey guys i'm sarah and i'm nick andtoday we're gonna dress up our airbnb bedroom with awesome temporary wallpaper okay so the temporary wallpaper we'reusing is called tempaper and their website is full of gorgeous designs tochoose from and i love the one that we ended up deciding on you can ordersamples that you can then you know spend days drooling over and deciding what youactually want to use if you're into that sort of thing okay so let's talk aboutprep yep so one thing to remember when prepping the walls is you're gonna wantto use a semi gloss or satin finish paint so that when you go to remove ityears down the road or months down the

road or days down the road that you'reable to take it off easily which is one of the things that we like most aboutthis product so if you're a renter i mean this is great because then duringthe life of your time in your rental you can make it your own and then take itdown when you're ready to go and you can't use it again but at least you knowyou make your house at home which is what we're all about yeah and soyou won't have to paint the walls again is the point right yeah so if your wallsare currently a flat or matte finish you can tell because it doesn't have anysheen to it you're gonna want to paint it with a satin or semi-gloss and thenyou're gonna want to let it cure for at

least two weeksif you don't let it cure that paint is gonna come off with the wallpaper when you goto remove it and the second thing you wanna look out for is to make sure yourwalls aren't textured and if they are textured you have to scrape them down alittle bit and do a skim coat and then prime and then paint with a semi glossor satin paint which we know that process pretty well yep you want to makesure you have a smooth wall as you can see behind us we are missing some trimcasing around the door we also haven't put the baseboards up yet because we'reprepping this airbnb for business and we thought we'd wait to putall the trim on until we get the

wallpaper up so we actually had thatthought mid door casing but you get the idea if your casings or molding arealready up you'll see this is super easy just take an exacto knife or a utilityknife and cut around it we're gonna have to do that on the side of the doorcasings here but when we go to do the baseboards we can just go all the waythe floor and put the baseboards right up against it with aseamless finish so that's cool too so we can kind of show you both ways yep allright so we should probably get started as you probably stop talking and get started we have the product open and it's so pretty youwill find the instructions on the back

of the label that wraps around the rollit's also on tempaper's website they have an awesome video and also textinstructions so you won't be lost so what's our plan for getting it on the wallwell let's get all the tools that we need first and we also need acutting surface so we're going to want a squeegee or in our case a drywallknife if you do not have a squeegee so yeah we have a clean drywall knifethere's nothing on it to rip the paper with.... make sure it's niceand smooth we're gonna need a box cutter or exacto knife and we're gonnaneed a metal ruler that's gonna span the length of the role so we can cutstraight lines right and we'll also need

a measuring tape so that we can measurethe wall which is pretty easy so we're going to measure the width and theheight and then you want to make sure that the design on the paper when you gofrom panel panel lines up so it's best to pre-cut all of your panels right yepso once you get your dimensions you can go to another bedroom or place that youhave adequate space to lay out these large panels yeah and then once they'rein order you can start yeah so with our walls the width of our walls is 12 feet and thewidth of our tempaper is 27 inches so we estimate that we'll need what about sixpanels yeah we'll have to cut down the six panel but yeah we'll have to cut down that sixth panel we're

gonna need 91 inches in height so wemake sure they're 91 inches long so we're gonna pre-cut six panels at 91inches long well we might go a little bit shorter than that because we don'tneed to go all the way to the floor just an inch or two below the baseboards all right so we cut we pre-cut all the panels we pre-cut 'em alland now ready to hang so what should we do before we like start hanging well wegot a draw a center line right which is very important it have a firstpiece to make sure that the first piece lines up real straight it's gonna helpalleviate a lot of headaches with your other pieces and make it easier for allthe other pieces to line up with each

other then you also i saw you likemeasuring the wall you want to see that for each panel is gonna fall just so youknow right so i wanted since the doorway is a little bit thicker than a panel idon't want to seem to close the doorway so we i want to have a seam like abovethe door we're gonna minimize the seams and keep it yeah uniformed as much aspossible then according to tempaper's website they say you want to overlap yourseams just a little bit because some houses will move and so then you don'twant your wallpaper to kind of separate with time so overlap just ever soslightly yep and then we want to take the cover off of our outlet yeah youjust take the cover off that way when we put

the wallpaper down you cut aroundthe actual outlet and then the faceplate will cover all the seams okay so youwant to go do that we'll draw our straight line and then we'll get to hangsounds good to me okay let's try this wait can i take a nap firstno before we got started we used a drywall knife to clear any imperfectionsfrom the wall to get the paper started it's as easy asseparating the decorative part from the backing all right so our outlet is right behindhere so i'm just gonna cut around it carefully with a razor knife not too bigbecause we want the plate to cover it

afterwards but yeah let's give it a shothere just a reminder when you add another panelto the wall make sure the seams are slightly overlapping this will help withany gaps should your walls or house move nick found that using his drywall knifein combination with his utility knife really helped him get a precise cutagainst our door casings yay we did it we put up tempaperwallpaper up in a day and this airbnb is completely transformed yeah i woulddefinitely suggest you have two people on this project for sure and also wewere using a credit card to smooth the paper but i would go ahead and invest inthe tempaper's squeegee yeah that would

have been helpful yeah other than thatit was super simple and a great quality product it's gonna look great for yearsyears to come we already have airbnb guests were like this bedroom is epicso that's the exact that's the reaction we want low cost high impact yeahabsolutely all right so if you like this video please click that thumbs up and ofcourse if you subscribe to our channel you're gonna get a... are we doing videosweekly now -ish you know if i can wake you up from a nap right rightcuz i'm really lazy and that will give you an email communication and letyou know when our next video comes out yeah so next week we'll have anothervideo for you about something about handyman work, design, organizing, airbnbsomething fun maybe all of the above that
