another year another color of the year.for 2018, pantone has decided that ultra violet is the color that we'll seeall over the place this year. they're reasoning? it's all about artisticexpression, spirituality and forward movement and since i'm all aboutinterior design, i'm going to give you the best ways to use this color inside your home. so if you love ultra violet or purple here's how i would use it. i lovedark bedding in the wintertime. it's almost psychological but i love the lookof warmth in the cold months (and this year has been a doozy) so i say bring on theultra violet sheets! i'd match or closely match the shams, sheets and duvet so thatit's one deep, dark, sleep oasis. if your
home is modern and contemporary withmainly white or pale gray walls a showstopper sofa in ultra violet can bea real jolt of excitement. look for a sofa that has square edges and simplestraightforward lines. oh and i love this look too. a large, tufted ottoman in a seaof open space, clean lines and shades of heather gray. it really makes a statement. if you're not afraid of color then layerit on. ultra violet is a rich, royal purple and i would love to have a royalpurple sofa in a deep, lush velvet like this in an already dark and mysteriousroom. want even more drama? keep layering! this time with patterns. here we seeultra violet with other jewel tones like
blue, teal, fuchsia and old gold. but itdoesn't have to be all dark and mysterious. layer it with lighterpatterns like toile de joie, famous for lovely purples. and finally i love the look of woodpainted in ultra violet. imagine a dining room with wainscoting or walls and trimpainted in this deep yummy color. dim lighting, satin drapes and some velvetcovered dining chairs would be a beautiful way to incorporate thisluscious color. so here's your take away... ultra violet is all about artisticexpression, spirituality and forward movement. use it as a single showpiece orenvelop a room all around this one color.
