contemporary interior design nj
blair harris: my name'sblair harris, and i'm an interior designer. it gets to be fairly personal. i mean you really learna lot about a person. you really learning alot about a family. there's times when i'm with afamily every single day for six months. so i really get to knoweverything about them, every aspect of their life, and whatthey need in their home, which
is such a big part of people'sday-to-day life, usually. what's left, i think, in yourbedroom is to do the window. this one's a littlemore like lineny. this one's nice, too, but itlets in a little less light, which i think is nice. every project, i mean reallyis different because of the client, i think, which is reallyfun and the interesting part of the job. that's something that separatesme from some other
designers, because i do likethat collaboration. me personally, if someone hasn'treally requested a direction, i really like morenatural interiors and using kind of like more natural, neutral colors. and i like a lot of texture. i like a room that you can gointo and really be comfortable in, and sit in, and live in. that's another thing i loveabout my job is that i'm doing a different thing everyday, and i'm running
around every day. i mean there's many days a weekthat i hit like every borough and every partof manhattan. and i'm like running aroundthe city all day, which is sometimes tiring but sometimesreally fun. it definitely keeps thingsinteresting. i mean i've been in business forabout a year and a half. and i like that i'm small, andit's a small business, especially because i really lovethe interaction i have,
like one-on-one with myclients right now. and i think it's actuallyreally important as an interior designerto have that. i think for the future, just theclose future, i'm going to keep it small and justkeep it personal. that's what i'll try to do. tracy metro: lovehome and design? so do we. have a lot of social media?
