modern living room furniture australia
modern living room furniture australia-now i can reveal this modern mansion right here, england waverly we catch up with the designer as he shows us around i mean this is a [very] new development here was this oldest part of the school next door. yeah it was part of the school [that] they sawed off at a later date they've since turned that into a street and housing estates, but it all luxury. yeah, it's a great in full sight yeah, the the look demands the area that the area demands [a] kind of property to be built in the area so so is that why you guys? built this buy a home here for that dock down rebuild yeah and the demographics in the area are big families they love homes of this style and size, and and that's the the market target market. we're trying to aim it. yeah, what's a big home?
it is a big home in fact. i might have [emory] squeezes it. that's about 56 square. are you kidding? i'm serious it is massive. i mean everything proportionally is massive, but not silly you know when you walk into a mansion and it's just big empty rooms. yeah, correct now. this is well proportionate a lot of design thought has gone in this home we've interviewed a lot of the [buys] in this area and really identified what they're after and and this really identifies the market in this area yeah, the floors got that beautiful parquetry patent in them yep as the herringbone pattern yeah quite quite familiar in this style of home in this sort of [1,700] sort of architecture we tried to sort of pull a few of those elements from that
era into this modern sort of day of living so the floor the cornices and the architraves [are] will stand out in this home the thing is - i mean there's something about the yesteryears kind of architecture the charm of it isn't that's coming back we're doing that revolution at the moment. we're what's old is good against is it funny how it goes through goes through these cycles? that's right. yeah, and you'll find a lot of the developing streetscape so i've got a lot of this style happening in that knocked down rebuild market, so so we needed to do it right yeah with the facade proportion and balance is very important from a design perspective, okay? and i suppose the use of brickwork in the front facade the [50ml] brick not quite nice
yeah, just adds that sort of masculine kind of class yeah. yeah you can't forget the master suite at the front of the home. this is the this is this is really it's on steroids, it's a master bedroom suite on steroids it's only [you'd] imagine going say in a luxury [hotel] internationally and having a penthouse suite exactly and it's icy it is you know the style of the home. it's suitable for any king or queen the the height the master bedrooms just enormous we've got a walking robe which we got jewel yes to be issued at his and hers correct whose is bigger um yeah, you could argue that gary, and i love her you take the screen to there as well
yeah, just again continuing that theme [of] the herringbone patting the screens [room] at the home again rather than having a wall [why] not just create a bit of transparency but still have that sort of screen to create that separation between the areas? practically having a master bedroom suite and having its own fireplace and living zone hmm and the kitchen upstairs - actually yeah, there is i mean really you don't need to come downstairs once you're up there no and that's the beauty about this design so once you're upstairs and size of this home you can't just stay upstairs and and do what you need to without coming downstairs and vice versa kitchens have come a long way and i love what's going on here because you can actually mean the eyelid bench is almost a sculptural piece of art as well isn't it it is um
the island bench has got no appliances in it you'll notice it's the appliances are on the external walls or internal walls yeah, the purpose of that is finishing the designer furniture eat very popular with the asian culture. they like their appliances on opposite locations, so we've taken that [inglot] see consideration this design and it also makes it practical when you're entertaining it's having a a nice island bench you know [free] [of] sinks and hot plates and so forth well, that's a thing but having a cynthia i always find when the sinks in the middle mean that people do it, but i was fine it just creates mess yeah, i like a heads off the side there
and it could kind of put it away and still use that space for serving food yeah, spot-on, so if someone loves this home exactly as it is can they build it exactly as it is of course they can basically the home as you say it can be built as it is that is great, but really always great to see you and thanks for showing us around winning design, thanks gary you
