my name is byron george, and i'm ryan russell, and we're from russell and george. we're are a design studio based in melbourne. we work across all spheres, we've done furnitureto larger buildings. we probably best known for our interior workin hospitality and retail. done a lot of that all over the world. and we have a small studio in rome which wedon't get to as often as we'd like to. that's really been the inspiration for this. the inspiration behind our piece is our experiencein rome and the fact we have a studio there. but namely and that's referencing an architectby the name of gia ponti, who did a lot of

work in the 50s, 60s, and his interiors werereally quite colourful and graphic. and the floors and walls and the type of treatmentsthat is to create. so the bricks we've used here are from theburlesque range, we really love the tones, but i think the colours are actually amazingtoo. so there's sublime steel which is the greycolour, we have indulgent white and also, smashing blue. the advice i'd give to anyone who wants touse brick in an interior is really experiment with colour and texture. and the range of colours and textures availablenow are far more broader than they've ever

been actually. you just have to look at austral's currentrange to look at what you can actually do and it's an unlimited opportunity.
