hi, my name is dean ball and i'm the managing director of the construction division i was tasked by the board with refurbishing our head office at romford the reason we decided to proceed with the refurbishment was that we felt that space was becoming a little bit tight, we felt that the majority of our offices probably didn't suit the type of environment we are trying to maintain for our staff and perhaps it was stifling collaboration and innovation and ideas etc. so the idea was to do a room branch refurbishment of the space and i think that everyone will agree we have done a fantastic job hello, my name is scott brewster, i'm a senior qs and i work for construction projects london under dean ball
i believe that the office refurbishment has given a modern feel to lakehouse it shows what we do and shows what we are about as a company previously the building , although it was nice, it was looking quite tired when walking in and out, seeing this quality of work and craftmanship that has gone in to this scheme then you would trust the person who is building your work to do this, so from a clients perspective, peoples perspective and from an employees perspective when you walk in you look at this office and think this is somewhere that i would like to work my name is christian gould, i'm the group head of marketing for lakehouse i acted as the client for the refurbishment of head office
so i spent a lot of time talking to our staff, understanding their needs and what they wanted out of a refurbished office. whether it be storage or meeting spaces or just somewhere to eat their lunch and to retain the best parts of the office we had and to bring them forward. i think we have achieved an office we can all be proud of and that is a nice place to work hi my name is carol and i'm the executive assistant to the group board and i love it here it's a great work enviroment it's quite remarkable how it was next to how it is now, it's very airy and a very friendly environment i think the facilities have improved immensely in here it's a much nicer area for people to come in and sit isn't it?
yeah where they can sit and not feel intimidated when having a cup of coffee on your lunch break because there are other people doing the same the pods feel like a community where people can sit and have their lunch and chat. hi i'm mark bone, i'm head of estimating. i really like the new environment, it's much more modern it's got a nice feel to it, i like the corporate branding, i like the kitchen area as it is very sociable it's very good to see people that you haven't seen for a long time quite often you seem to bump into people from other businesses, particularly where you often get to engage with them on a personal level i think it is a big improvement in what we have had before
