christian: i dropped out ofcollege my senior year, so i decided to challengemyself and do the whole real life thing. lisa: we talked about it. i said, you know, if youreally want to launch a clothing line, you've gotto build a brand. christian: my name'schristian moore. i'm 24 years old, andi live with my mom. so you know how my roomis all unorganized and
everything like that. i don't have anything in thereto do any work in there. lisa: i know. it's been a big pain foryou for a while. christian: so i just keep allmy inventory in there. which is actually why i wasgoing to tell you i'm going to bring in a designer to redomy whole entire room. christian: really? lisa: yeah.
christian: so who'sthis designer? tracy: you, for us to be thesame height, need to get down on your knees. christian: all right. tracy: so the bed. christian: mmhm. tracy: you're how tall? christian: 6'8". tracy: and how bigis this bed?
christian: um, not 6'8". tracy: how many inchesare you? christian: 72 plus 8. tracy: that's 80. christian: 80. tracy: oh, so then youjust fit on it. but actually, you really don't,because your pillow winds up going right here. so then your feet dangleover the edge?
christian: yeah. tracy: so it'd be pretty bad-assif you got a new bed. where do you get inspiredin this room? christian: i don't. all i do is sleep in this roomand do the labor work. tracy: your designsare so amazing. i have this idea to do somethingreally modern for you, and kind of minimalist. does that sound cool?
minimalism is what i do. everything that's flat, basic. no gradients. just solid colors. tracy: are you willingto let me do something kind of out there? i'm out there, so that works. tracy: ok. awesome.
speaking of out there, get out of here. because i seriously havesuch a cool idea. i really, really can'twait to do it. christian: i have no cluewhat's going on. anything is greatat this point. i think i'm going toreact to the room-- i'm going to be really happy. just having a real bed in there, possibly, that's good enough for me.
tracy: the concept forchristian's room was to give him something reallycool, minimalist-- to feel like a boutique hotel. i literally just put thistable together. ding. done. it's going to be good, but rightnow is the moment of-- nnnh. i have this in every room.
i always go, oh my god. that's where i am right now. hoo-boy. it's a small roomand big pieces. i think i'm in the right vein. it's just really hard. it's a small space, and i'mgiving him the proper size bed, which is a californiaking. but it is eating up probably80% of the room.
i have a feeling i'm gonnahave to do some hemming. hey, sister. these are our pier 1. when i knew i wanted to do amodern room, i thought pier 1 has gorgeous modern elements. and they have this beautifulegg chair. when i talk about having onebig pop in the room, that's what it is. christian is a designer.
he is just visual. he's graphics. i happen to love these randomthings, like these hang tags that you find at thedry cleaners'. one on the wall would be, like, all right, you got a hang tag to remind yourselfto write something. but to do 1,000 of them on thewall as if they're exploding out of the corner? that, to me, is anart installation.
christian: i guess we'reabout an hour away for me to see my room. i'm a little nervous. i mean, like i said, anythingis a good thing. lisa and christian, comeon in and see your new sanctuary of a room. christian: oh, wow. tracy: come on in. christian: this is awesome.
this is crazy. thank you. this is insane. this is nuts. i love it. lisa: i can't believe you didsuch a beautiful job. thank you so much. oh my gosh. i--
i'm speechless. it's amazing. the colors are beautiful. tracy: i don't know how youslept on that tiny little bed. that's the size bedi sleep on. how did you have a bedhalf your size? i wanted to give you a space inwhich to be creative, but i didn't have a lot ofspace to work with. so what i did is i did aninstallation here on the wall.
christian: yeah, i love it. tracy: taking thesegarment tags-- we talked about minimalism. and normally, i'm nota big fan of white. i'm a huge fan of color. but i wanted to give yousomething really modern, really minimalist. so as you see, there is nota lot of pattern here. completely clean, exceptyou've got
these ginormous colors. and this is actuallyfrom pier 1. and your color for kanvas kingsis green, so what i did is i got the green canvases. christian: yeah,i noticed that. tracy: i framed your t-shirts. christian: it's like a bigwork of art, and it's minimalism at its best, just like my company. and i didn't picture this allin my head, and even--
i was figuring out how i woulddesign a room, and it wasn't even close to this. tracy: and then i got you thisreally amazing egg chair. christian: that's thefirst thing i saw. tracy: go sit in it. christian: yeah, that's insane. lisa: this is so him. like, this room is so him. tracy: lastly, major, majorthanks to pier 1.
i love this chair. everybody who's seen thischair loves this chair and wants it. i think this makes anyroom come to life. christian: everythingis just-- lisa: perfect. christian: everything's big,but it seems like it fits. lisa: she made this smallspace look bigger. every little bit of it's him--the color, the clean lines.
it's everything him. like, how does somebody meetsomebody and talk to them for just a little bit and be able tohave that talent where you can actually take this roomand make it christian? i'm going to leave and letyou guys drink it up. but i hope you-- christian: thank you so much. lisa: thank you so much. i just thank you.
christian: i'm christianmoore. i'm 24. i still live with my mom. but now my room is amazing andvery creative, just like me. tracy: i'm tracy metro, thedesigner on "i live with my mom." to watch more awesomemakeovers, don't forget to click subscribe, right here.
