office interior design models
hello everyone! today we prepare daylight settings in vray 3.4 to do that we need to model a building. i propose to model an office building we select rectangle tool we draw a square: 810x810 cm we click the cursor we make triple click to select edges and plane inside we chose option make group we use move tool to copy our rectangle
with ctrl we copy rectagle 5 times by clicking 5x we select it move ctrl 2x or 3x we have our construction grid ready right now we want to arrange structural columns we select rectangle tool we draw a square: 40x40cm
we select pen tool and add line inside no matter in which direction we draw it this line helps us to create a column we select geometry we make component and name it column 01 we select move tool we type 5x to copy even 6x right now we select all columns
we select move + ctrl and we copy this we type 5x too much, 4x insteed we have right number of columns right now we have to edit this column we select erase tool we extrude it 450 cm we will edit the dimensions later
when we have all these columns we want to make a slab to do a slab is useful to hide all columns right click and hide right now we can hide geometry we created we select all elements and explode we have everything exploded and connected we can erase all lines with erase tool
all unnecessary lines inside right now we select offset tool we want to offset this slab outside 135 cm will be ok we click cursor double click - select inner plane we click delete another option is like that: undo and select erase tool and erase edges
rigt now with tool push and pull we extrude it 80 cm, down we select cusor, triple click and make group we remember that all models we start to work with should be simplified from general to specific aspects we do the same in this case we select slab move tool
click ctrl to have "+" visible click main plane of the slab we see blue axis we click shift and move slab we are sure that out story is 450 cm we have to make our columns shorter we click double and use push and pull tool to make columns shorter
we have our first story we have to select all columns we can create component with this slab right click and chose option make component from the list on the right side we name it slab 01 we select all columns and slab we select move tool we click ctrl and copy
we can create first story a little bit higher first 450 cm second 400 cm we move slab we have to edit column height make notice when we start to edit column all colums change to avoid this effect we select all colums on the first floor
we make sure we have all columns selected select one unselected right click and make unique we have 1 story column unique then only our column will be edited we can select and click option make component we name it story 01 right nowe we can select tool move click ctrl and copy component story 01 with ctrl
5x 4x maybe 3x we start story edition we unhide all i have shortcut for unhide all (a) when i press a key, everything start to be visible notice that the core is multipied, on all levels another interesting option is like that:
we can edit one component, chose option copy from edit menu i change my mind, we do not have to edit component because in case of the lowest level we do not have any component when i hide all upper levels and chose option paste in place instead of paste the core which i copied is adding here right now with move tool i can copy it lower we can see the core is a little bit too short we can hide upper slab
we can edit this core chose push and pull tool press h key to unhide geometries i extrude the core 5 cm i have to delete columns inside the core i select everything also the core i chose the coursor, click key combination ctrl+shift i have only columns selected, i delete them all
i can click unhide all i can see one problem i wanted to have one level higher in the moment when i measure i can see that upper levels are 445 cm and the lowest is 450 cm so it means i i made levels lower by 5 cm not by 50 cm as i planned each level is done as component so i can edit it very easy i start to edit level
i select the slab i select move tool i type -45 cm i select the pen and i measure the distance
