(intro music) designed by alex norman of brilliant sa, thebrief of this project was to create a large entertainers kitchen that was the main featureof the new open plan area and to also create a large and luxurious bathroom. the finishes had to be selected carefully,as the clients specifically wanted materials that would be beautiful but also be easy tolive with. along with the need for practicality, theowners had strong ideas on how they wanted the space to look and feel and sought theuse of unusual materials, in some unusual colours, to create a impact to the overalldesign.
along with a streamlined design, a neutralcolour palette was chosen as the backdrop. with the clients needs in mind, alex designeda 3m long island benchtop for the kitchen. the decision to specify staron solid surfacesin colour tempest confection was born from the need to create a luxurious design thatwas easy to maintain. using staron also allows the entire benchspace to be one continuoussurface with no open joins. as a bold statement, acrylic couture was usedas the splashback and clad on to the front of the island. an led lighting strip was alsoused around the material for illumination. staron also continues into the bathroom space.the product enabled a clean, fuss free vanity top and continues into the shower wall andfloor surface with a seamless application.
the vanity top in staron colour quasar whiteis non porous and easy to clean. the shower wall and base are installed in one continuoussurface with no grout or join lines. acrylic couture was also selected as the shower screenas an elegant feature. the end result is one that produces a senseof excitement and enjoyment for all who visit the home and for those who live within it! the innovative use of both colour and materialprovide endless enjoyment to the clients. the carefully selected flooring, wall claddingand benchtops in staron solid surface enable the clients to live a fuss free lifestyleand provide a neutral surround for the overall space.
